Common Poisons
Organophosphates: SLUDGE symptoms, miosis, fasciculations. Antidote: Atropine + PAM.
Heavy metals:
- Arsenic: Garlic breath, rice-water stools, Mees lines
- Mercury: Erethism, gingivitis, tremors
- Lead: Burton line (blue gum line), abdominal colic, anemia
Barbiturates: CNS depression, coma, respiratory depression. No specific antidote. Supportive care.
Alcohol: Ethanol (depression, odor, hypoglycemia), Methanol (visual disturbances, formate toxicity - treat with ethanol/fomepizole).
